The various duties and functions over the period stated above included the following: Jun 2007 – May 2008 RBCT Operations Planning Specialist Management Trainee position understudying Train Scheduling Manager; Stock and Quality Manager and Shipping Manager Oct 2006 – May 2007 RBCT Coal Stock Controller Managing Stockpiles • Inspection of stockpiles to verify the quantity and quality of RBCT’s coal stocks. • Alter restrictions and inform Operations and Quality coordinator regarding the stacking of stockpiles. • Identify incidents of hot coal. Assess the severity and take appropriate remedial action. Reclaim Temperature Monitoring • Constantly monitor Reclaim temperatures and report to Shareholders and the Quality and Stock coordinator. Liaise with Agents, Surveyors, Stevedores, Harbour Revenue, SARS, Chamber of Business and SABS • Email / Fax, all of the above, vessel documentation and all information and requirements relevant to each individual shipment, for vessels’ en route. • Liaise with Harbour Revenue, SARS, Banks, and Chamber of Business regarding any shipments that have completed and to rectify any administrative problems should they arise. • Ensure that the berthing fax is sent off to Port Control and Agents once a vessel appears on the Daily Shiploading Plan. • Issue Certificates of Origin once vessel has completed and send to Chamber of Business for verification and endorsement. • Ensure timeous receipt of SABS Analysis and documents from the Surveyors and verify that documents are 100% correct. Prepare and verify export documentation before dispatching to the Users or Customers • Prepare all Bills of Lading, Mates Receipts, Weight Certificates, IMO’s and Certificates of Origin in accordance with the Shipping Instructions received from the Shareholders. Bills of Lading are to be forwarded to Shareholders for their approval prior to releasing to the Agents. • Do amendments (if necessary) in accordance to additional requests from the Shareholders and forward approved Bills, documents and loading requirements to the Service Providers. • Prepare provisional Exchange Control documentation for the Banks and SARS prior to the vessel berthing, ensuring that the correct Shipper and customer details, FOB and FAS rates appear on all documents. • On receipt of the Masters Stow and load rotation, hand written Shiploading Instructions are completed ensuring that the correct grades and fixture, blend programme and loading sequence are recorded. These must then be sent through to the Stock Co-ordinator and Shipping Co-ordinator for verification and authorisation before being sent to the Control Tower. • Information pertaining to a vessels’ visit must be updated on the Oracle system together with the blend details and the vessel must be cleared to load on the Oracle database. • Prepare and send accurate Acquittal documentation to the Banks and SARS once vessel has completed, as well as Wharfage costs to Harbour Revenue. In order to prevent monetary loss to the Shareholders, all documents released to us by the Agents, CMT and Surveyors must be checked for errors and once accurate, forwarded to the Shareholders or customers as agreed.
