About me

As a young self-driven Control Systems Specialist enthusiast who holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from the Management Collage of South Africa and A Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Durban University. I have +12 years working experience in the IT, Electrical and Electronics field, as a Technician and Specialist in my field. I have a traceable record of providing exemplary customer service, work prioritization, ensuring profit maximization while keeping and observing the relevant Plant maintenance and support. Working in the various departments has allowed me to gain and mature my problem-solving skills, technical, attention to detail, analytical, numerical and negotiation skills whilst working as a team and as an individual.  As a proactive and responsible enthusiast in the working environment I seek to secure a position within the Electrical and Management field of expertise in an organization where I can bring my immediate Interpersonal, analytical, numerical, innovativeness, attentive and problem-solving skills in a welcomed, challenging environment of growth and excellence.

    • Undertakes effective, pro-active maintenance of all plant equipment, as well as on all other equipment at RBCT as required? • Exercises specialized skills requiring advanced capability within designated area of responsibility? • Effective reactive (breakdown) maintenance of RBCT equipment • Develops Technical modules for designated area of responsibility. • Maintains integrity of all software in designated area of expertise, including maintaining master files, monitoring software and rectifying non-compliances, de-bugging software investigating performance and making required modifications as per modification procedure. • Monitors downtime performance in responsible area. • Exercises specialized skills requiring advanced capability within designated area of responsibility. • Provides authoritative, substantial expertise and advice to RBCT on systems, equipment and specific technologies in all areas. • Ensures there is documented knowledge and information on all equipment and systems in areas for which he is responsible, so that this is available and transferable to the organization. • Ensures that all colleagues in designated area of responsibility are trained to competency. • Successfully carry out all necessary technical investigations and fault-finding in areas of responsibility, and serves as second-line call to equipment faults or deviations in all areas, checking failure/deviation cause and rectifying same on (one of which is PLC\'s and the other either SCADA or drives or networks). • Carries out project work at RBCT, including SCADA modifications and PLC code associated with fault messaging and first-up faults customizes software for specific applications. • Carries out research and development involving software, SCADA and implementation of new technology. • Ensures that all equipment responses are optimal sets electronic / program sequences for peak equipment performance. • Anticipates future needs, develops and motivates project proposals accordingly, in good time • Writes up Scopes of Work, Work Breakdown Structures and develops Project Plans on MS Project as required. • Establishes project timeframes and budgets, and motivates and secures approval for same. • Establishes effective project control mechanisms, and implements these in collaboration with external vendors and contractors. • Control all new electronic equipment entering the plant within designated area of responsibility or expertise investigates and determines incorporation and application of this new equipment supervises the installation and commissioning of new equipment received to correct standards. • Attends to specialized electronic faults and requests for certification involving calibration of equipment (including, but not limited to scales and test weigh bins). • Keeps abreast of latest technology applicable to designated area of responsibility or expertise. • Document equipment and systems professionally in appearance, up-to-date, as-built and accurate (including electronic and hard copies of drawings, specifications, Safe-Work Procedures, Standard Engineering Procedures, correspondence, License Registers, software licenses, Bills of Material, breakdown reports, etc.). • Ensures all back-ups are implemented as per procedure using the MDT Software. • Always ensure Software authorization procedures followed. • In collaboration with Section Manager, share responsibility for training and competency of team colleagues. • In collaboration with Section Manager, shares responsibility for his team colleague\'s performance optimization needs initiates ideas and follows these through with action to help improve the team\'s performance. • In collaboration with Section Manager, shares responsibility for preparation of departmental budget. • Works in collaboration with consultants and project teams to develop and implement new technology and solutions and to eliminate concerns involving complex problems and technical data analysis.
